This has paid for itself so many times over. I’ve subscribed to the 2 books a month plan for 13 years now. We’ll before Amazon bought them. The added some new free channels as well lately if you’re a subscriber that includes original series, comedy, news, and more (Ted talks, meditation, authors, etc.)
A fantastic suggestion below mentioned by Matt Ridley in Tribe of Mentors for those of us that love audiobooks, podcasts, and music, have difficulty falling asleep but don’t want to disturb others.
But first, a few words about Matt Ridley. If you haven’t read any of his books yet, he is a sensational best selling author that has written multiple award-winning books mainly about science and economics. What I love about his writing is that he takes difficult subjects and writes them so that you don’t have to have a PhD to understand them.
His last book is absolutely amazing and I wish I had read it earlier. (Inexplicably, it sat on my audible wishlist for months.): The Evolution of Everything.
This book is so good that I started it on a cross-country road trip thinking I’d go back and forth between it and some podcasts maybe mixing in some NPR in between, but it grabbed me from the first chapter and I listened to it almost straight through. In fact, I actually called a friend at one point and recommend they download it midtrip.
But I digress. 🙂
If you are looking for a gift for a friend, spouse or even yourself and have a hard time falling asleep (like me), you might want to check out SleepPhones.

A Ted Talk by Matt Ridley down below that remains very popular:
“At TEDGlobal 2010, author Matt Ridley shows how, throughout history, the engine of human progress has been the meeting and mating of ideas to make new ideas. It’s not important how clever individuals are, he says; what really matters is how smart the collective brain is.”
